Young Professional Board at the "Blue Hope Bash"
On an unseasonably warm October evening, the Chris4Life Colon Cancer
Foundation hosted the Second Annual Blue Hope Bash at the Park Hyatt.
Several hundred people gathered to help raise money to increase
awareness of colon cancer and to provide the funding needed to
continue vital research.
Artwork, sporting event tickets, food and entertainment packages are
just some of the silent auction items that awaited guests as they
mixed and mingled before dinner. Upon entering the grand ballroom, we
were greeted by a sea of blue. The crowd was still abuzz from the
cocktail hour but simmered down once Mistress of Ceremonies, Jennifer
Donelan of ABC 7 News, took the stage.
In addition to being a fundraiser, it was an evening to recognize
several individuals who had been instrumental in raising awareness of
Towards the end of the program, Chris4Life CEO Michael Sapienza asked
everyone in the room who had in some way been affected by colon cancer
to stand up. As we looked around, a majority of those in attendance
were standing. He made a pitch to the crowd to give what they could
to support the cause and within a matter of seconds, the donations
began to roll in. As of last mention, the event raise nearly $200k.
Attending the Blue Hope Bash was truly a humbling experience for
anyone who has been impacted by colon cancer. With your help, next
year's event will be an even larger success.
